A Celebration of People and the Earth in Rogers Park.

WHERE: Warren Park, Corner of Pratt and Western
Take Pratt off of Sheridan Straight up to Western, turn left,
entrance to big huge olą parking lot off of Western.

WHEN: Saturday, April 17th TIME:
Registration: 8am-10am
Walkathon: 10am-12pm
Community Fair: 10AM -3PM

WHY: because it's a REALLY DARN GOOD EVENT for DARN GOOD CAUSES, in a BEAUTIFUL PARK with wonderful NEIGHBORS and the ROGERS PARK COMMUNITY and CONNECTIONS.....and connection MAKING....between urban, rural, local/global human, environmental and community health and sustainability!!!!

And because you are going to HAVE FUN!!! We welcome ALL AGES to this event! it's EASY!!! : Get 10 people you know to donate 10$ and you've made our goal for each pledge walker.

Registration and entrance to the walkathon and community fair is  FREE with a minimum of 15$ in pledges.

VERY INTRIGUING PRIZES FOR THE FIRST 100 WALKERS WITH OVER $100  IN PLEDGES. Extra AWESOME PRIZES for most pledges collected over 100$ in these categories:

AFTERNOON: The Heartland Cafe is preparing items for sale for lunch for the community vegan, vegetarian, and organic meat barbecue......

EVENING:  NEIGHBORFOOD FEAST at the HEARTLAND 7pm: Join us for an evening meal with GeneWise and ISA members and friends. Experience art, organic beverages, and organic entrees.....stay for the music FEAST: 9:30pm -?

NOTE: The Heartland is taking reservations of 5 or more for this event. RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!!!

Illinois Stewardship Alliance Mission:    ISA is a citizens organization that promotes a safe and nutritious food system, family farming, and healthy communities by advocating diverse, humane, and socially just and ecologically sustainable production and marketing practices. We are a coalition of farmers, rural citizens and concerned urbanites  and have existed for thirty years as an incorporated not for profit advocacy and service organization working for rural and urban citizens and independent family farmers.
Membership: Over 2,300 people cooperate in ISA activities across the state of Illinois.

GeneWise Mission: GeneWise believes that access to healthy food is a basic natural human right as well as responsibility. GeneWise actively unites consumers, farmers, food producers, artists, activists, scientists, educators, health professionals, and parents in the Midwest to promote a safe, sustainable, and locally produced food system, while raising awareness and mobilizing grassroots opposition to genetic engineering, food irradiation, factory farming, and other threats to our health, environment, and food supply.
Membership: Members total over 150 in Chicago-proper.
